White Marble White marble has been used for sculpture since classical times as it is soft to work, relatively resistant to shattering and has a waxy look which adds life to marble statues. The most common white marbles are Italian marble from Carrara, Royal White and Beijing White from China and Malagori from Pakistan. The most famous marble sight in the world is the Taj Mahal.
